Getting started
You will learn the fastest path from "I have access to Tixio" to "my team can track work here."
This section is intentionally short and practical. It does not try to document every product surface. It gives you the first-run path, the terms you need to understand what you are seeing, and the navigation habits that make the rest of Tixio easier to learn.
Your first-session checklist
Use this checklist the first time you set up a team:
- Read What is Tixio? so the workspace, project, issue, cycle, epic, milestone, and view model is clear.
- Follow Set up your workspace to sign in, create or enter a workspace, and create the first project.
- Follow Invite your team to add workspace members and decide who also needs project access.
- Use Five-minute tour to learn the sidebar, top bar, project tabs, search, notifications, theme control, keyboard shortcuts, and AI assistant.
What you need before you start
You need a Tixio account or an invitation from a workspace owner or admin. If your organization uses SSO, your admin may ask you to sign in through your identity provider instead of email and password.
For a deeper account walkthrough, read Sign up, sign in and sessions. For password, email, profile photo, and MFA controls, read Manage account security.
If you are creating the first workspace for your team, decide on:
- The workspace name people recognize, such as your company or department.
- A short URL-safe workspace name. Use lowercase letters, numbers, and hyphens.
- The first project name and issue key prefix. For example, a project named
"Platform" might use the issue key
PLAT. - Whether the first project should be private or visible to all workspace members.
Recommended first project
Start with one real project that your team already understands. Avoid creating a full company hierarchy on day one. A good first project is something with active work, clear owners, and enough tasks to make board, backlog, and cycle planning useful.
Good examples:
Productfor a small team shipping one product.Platformfor shared infrastructure work.Websitefor marketing and docs work.Mobilefor a dedicated mobile app team.
After people are comfortable creating and triaging issues, you can split work into more projects or add cross-project views.
