Delivery modes
For each event type, you can control:
- In-app: creates a bell/Inbox notification.
- Email Off: no email delivery for that event type.
- Email Instant: enqueue an email delivery as soon as the event is created.
- Email Digest: include the event in the next digest window.
- Slack Off: no Slack DM delivery for that event type.
- Slack Instant: enqueue a Slack DM as soon as the event is created.
- Slack Digest: include the event in the next Slack digest window.
Defaults
When no custom preference exists:
- In-app delivery is enabled.
- Mentions default to instant email.
- Invitations default to instant email.
- CI failures default to instant email.
- Most other email events default to digest.
- Slack defaults to off.
Rules and exceptions
- Tixio skips self-notifications when you are the actor who made the change.
- Mentions win over comment/status notifications for the same recipient and change.
- Mentions are always eligible for in-app delivery.
- If email or Slack is enabled for mentions, mention delivery is instant.
- Project and issue mutes suppress ordinary notifications but do not suppress direct mentions.
- Archived notifications do not count toward the active unread bell badge.
- Slack delivery requires workspace Slack installation and a linked Slack user account.
Notification destinations
Clicking a notification can open:
- Issue detail for issue-linked notifications.
- Cycle detail for cycle-start notifications when cycle/project context is available.
- Invitation routes for membership invitations.
Some notifications may have no click-through target if the underlying issue, comment, or route context is unavailable. They can still be marked read or archived.
Digest timing
Digest timing is set per workspace user:
- Daily digests use the selected UTC hour.
- Weekly digests use the selected weekday and UTC hour.
The digest schedule applies to both email and Slack event types set to Digest.
