AI assistant capabilities
Use this page as a quick reference for what the Tixio AI assistant can help with.
For concepts, read AI assistant and chat. For in-app usage, read Chat with the AI assistant.

| Summarize a project | Summarize current risks in the Platform project. |

In-app capabilities
The in-app assistant can:
- Search workspace data.
- List and load issues.
- Read comments.
- Read cycles and sprint status.
- Summarize My Work.
- Generate status reports.
- Summarize projects and planning context.
- Create issues after confirmation.
- Update issues after confirmation.
- Add comments after confirmation.
- Move issues into cycles after confirmation.
- Create, update, start, close, and reopen cycles after confirmation.
- Bulk update issues after confirmation.
- Show a plan before multi-step destructive work.
Available tools can vary by deployment. Some deployments may run a smaller "core" tool set that omits niche administration, analytics, dashboard, webhook, attachment, semantic search, and advisory planning tools.
Read vs write safeguards
Read-only tools run automatically.
Write tools require confirmation in the in-app chat. Confirmation cards show the tool name and arguments. Bulk update confirmation cards show the issue patches that will be applied.
For multi-step destructive work, the assistant should first show a plan. A plan does not execute changes; it makes the intended sequence visible before each destructive step asks for confirmation.
Slack capabilities
The Slack assistant can:
- Answer in DMs.
- Answer when mentioned in a channel.
- Continue in a bot-owned thread without repeated mentions.
- Use the linked user's Tixio permissions.
- Search and summarize workspace data.
- Render concise Slack-friendly replies.
- Render one Markdown table as a native Slack table when it fits Slack limits.
The Slack assistant cannot make changes. It refuses destructive tool calls and asks you to open Tixio for confirmation.
Slack setup requirements
Slack assistant chat requires:
- Slack integration configured for the deployment.
- Slack installed for the workspace.
- Your Slack account linked to your Tixio user.
Open Settings > Integrations > Slack to check installation and user link state.
AI settings
Workspace owners and admins can open Settings > AI assistant to review:
- Usage this month.
- Monthly token budget.
- Max completion tokens per request.
Token budgets use UTC calendar months.
Audit and usage
Assistant tool use can appear in:
- Tool usage records for internal chat.
- Workspace audit events for AI tool invocation.
Audit payloads can include the tool name, invocation source, success state, summarized input, error summary, and token usage metadata when available.
Limitations
The assistant can be wrong or incomplete.
Check important outputs by:
- Opening linked issues.
- Reviewing tool-card details.
- Confirming project, cycle, status, and assignee names.
- Reading the proposal before running a write.
- Using product UI for sensitive admin decisions.
